Recruitment of Navik on Indian Coast Guard

Navik (General Duty)
Educational Qualification:
10+2 with 60% marks in aggregate in Maths and Physics from an education board recognised by Central/State Government.
Age:
Born between 01 Feb 91 to 31 Jan 95. (Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Navik (Domestic Branch) (Cook & Steward)
Educational Qualification:
Matriculate with 60% marks in aggregate from an education board recognised by Central/State Government.
Age:
Born between 01 Apr 91 to 31 Mar 95. (Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates)

How to apply: -
(i) Navik(General Duty):-
(a) Applications will only be accepted ‘Online’. The guidelines to fill the application will be displayed on the screen and must be read by the candidate. Some of the important guidelines are given below:-
(i) The name of the candidate, father/mother's name and date of birth should be as given in the 10th class certificate.
(ii) Indicate exact percentage of 12th upto two decimals and are not to be rounded off.
(iii) Filling up of information like personal email ID and Mobile number is compulsory. Candidates not having their own email address or mobile number can give the same of their parents or any other family member. The date, time and venue of the test and other information will be given in the personal email ID.
(iv) The candidates from remote areas where internet/email facilities are not available can apply by ordinary post. The format of application is given in para 13 below.
(v) Candidates must submit only one 'Online' application. Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation of candidature. Candidates applying "Online" are not required to send application by post.
(b) Procedure: - To fill up ‘Online’ application the candidates need to logon to the Website www.joincoastguard.org. and proceed as given below:-
(i) Click on the 'I Agree' button and the 'Online Application' will be displayed. The candidates can choose two examination centres from any one the recruitment zone para 3 below. The centre option is to be chosen on the basis of present residential address. The candidate will be allotted any one centre for examination. Select the 'Navik(GD)' entry button and fill in all the particulars.
(ii) Before clicking the 'Submit' button, it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form are correct as you will not be able to make any corrections after submitting the application.
(iii) After submitting the form correctly an acknowledgement with a Registration number will be provided to the candidate. The filled Application Form, with the number generated will be available to the candidate to save and take a print. For candidates NOT meeting the eligibility criteria, a ‘Rejection Slip, giving the cause of rejection with the Application Number’ will be displayed.
(iv) After submitting online application, candidates are required to print two copies of the application with number generated by the system. Both copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph are to be carried by the applicant to the recruitment centre. Out of the two copies one copy enclosed with photocopies of all required documents i.e. class 10th certificate/mark sheet showing date of birth, 12th class certificate along with mark sheet subjects, caste certificate wherever required duly attested by the Gazzetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate and submitted at the recruitment centre. Second copy without any enclosure is to be kept with the candidate as an identity proof during the selection procedure. Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of recruitment shall not be permitted to appear in the exam.
(c) Candidates can apply 'Online' from 08 Jun to 30 Jun 12.

(ii) Procedure for applying for Navik (Domestic Branch):- Applications can be downloaded from the Indian Coast Guard website www.indiancoastguard.nic.in. and the filled application be sent by Ordinary Post only.
(a) The application is to be submitted on plain paper in the form appended below (type written/hand written in English/Hindi) and is to be sent to the address of the respective Zonal recruitment centre.
(b) The type of entry, choice of centre and percentage of marks 10th board examination is to be clearly written on the top of the envelope.
(c) Attested copies (not returnable) of certificates as proof of age, educational qualifications including statement of marks, caste certificate ( SC, ST, OBC as per Govt. of India format), Sports and a self-addressed (unstamped) envelop of size 22x10 cms are to be attached with the application. All enclosures must be pinned/tagged with the application.
(d) Receipt of multiple applications for Navik(GD) and Navik(DB) branch and for different examination centres from the same candidate will result in cancellation of candidature from both.
(e) All applications for Navik(Domestic Branch) are to be addressed to Post Boxes as given below:-

Bachelor’s degree with minimum 60%  marks in aggregate of a university  recognised by   the Central/ State  Govt./UGC. Should have qualified 12th  standard with aggregate of 60% marks in Physics and Maths.
Age: 01 Jul 88 to  30 Jun 92  (both dates  inclusive).

B.Sc with Maths & Physics with  60%  marks in aggregate. (Physics or Maths  should be one of the subject in final year  of B.Sc Degree).  Should have qualified  12th standard with an aggregate  of  60%  marks in Physics and Maths.
Age:
01 Jul 86 to  30 Jun 94 (both dates inclusive). 

Name of Branch:
General Duty Technical  branch  (Mechanical/Aeronautical/Electrical)
Education Qualification :
(i) Degree  with 60% marks in  aggregate in Naval architecture / Mechanical/ Marine/Design/ Production  /Aeronautical/ Automotive /  Industrial and  Production/ Aeronautical/ Instrumentation  and  Control/ Electrical/ Electronics and  Tele Communication  in any of the above  discipline, recognised by All India Council for  Technical Education (AICTE).
(ii)   60% marks in Physics and Maths in  12th class or three year diploma course. 
                               or
Should have passed sections A and B of  Institute of Engineers (India) examination  in any of the discipline listed above with 60% marks.
Age:
01 Jul 83 to  30 Jun 92 (both dates inclusive).

Pilots (Helicopter  and fixed wing)  Commercial PilotLicense holders 
Education Qualification :
12th class pass with 60% marks and should possess current / valid Commercial Pilot license (CPL) approved by DGCA on the date of registration.
Age:
01 Jul 86 to  30 Jun 94 (both dates inclusive).   

How to apply:-
(a)         Applications will be accepted 'Online only'  from 31 May to 20 Jun 2012. Candidates to logon www.joinindiancoastguard.org. The important instructions  for filling of online application:-
(i)     The guidelines to fill the application will be displayed and must be read by  the candidates. Click on the 'I Agree' button and the 'Online Application' will be  displayed. Select the 'Officer' entry button and fill in all the particulars for the  desired branch in GD/GD(P/N)/Tech/CPL/Women(SSA). Candidates can apply  for one branch only. Multiple applications by the same candidate will be  rejected. 
(ii)  Candidates to choose any one venue out of the options displayed.
(iii)     Name of candidate, father/mother's name and date of birth should    be as given in the 10th class pass certificate.
(iv)   While filling up the application form, candidates are required to  indicate exact percentage of 12th and Degree upto two decimals and are  not to be rounding off. Any false entry of percentage detected at any stage  of selection will be outrightly rejected. 
(v) E-mail address and mobile number are mandatory for getting  updates regarding the selection process.
(vi)       Before clicking the 'Submit' button, it should be checked whether all  the details entered in the form are correct as you will not be able to make any  corrections after submitting the application. 
(vii) After submitting the form an acknowledgement with a Registration  number will be provided to the candidate. mark sheet showing subjects, Degree certificate showing percentage of marks,  caste certificate wherever required and NCC 'C' certificate/games certificate duly  attested by the Gazzetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate  and  submitted at the examination centre. Second copy without any enclosure is to  be kept with the candidate as an identity proof during the selection procedure. 
Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of PSB shall  not be permitted to appear in the exam.
Schedule for Preliminary Selection Examination:  Candidates to reach the  given venue at least 30 minutes prior to the starting of Exam. The date and time of the  examination will be generated on acceptance of the application online. The PSB will be  conducted in the  last  week of  Jun/early Jul  2012. The Preliminarily Selection will be  conducted at following centers or any other centre promulgated by Coast Guard:-
