Interview Tips of IBPS

Every candidate who are looking for a career in banking jobs want to know some tricks and tips to crack the interview. The reason being the interview doesn’t only test their academic knowledge but also their approach to life. The interviewer may ask any set of questions to the candidate to determine the sets of skills. Therefore it is significant for the candidates to do some preparation before going for the bank interview.

Research – A first step towards a successful interview is to do some research. The candidate should visit the particular bank website and read about the bank. Brief information about the bank can be obtained from “about us” section of the website. Also, the candidate will be able to gather information about the products and services that the bank is offering. Some important information that you can gather from the website is any rewards and recognition that a bank might have achieved in the past. By showing to the interviewer that you have a good knowledge about the bank, you stand a fair chance of clearing the interview.

Practicing English – Speaking in English language is important. A lot of time the interviewer who is taking your interview might not know the regional language you speak. In such case communication becomes in-effective if you are not good in speaking English. Moreover, even if the interviewer knows the regional language, speaking in English leaves a good impression on the interviewer, therefore, it is important that if you are not good at speaking in English, you practice it every day. Practicing will bring fluency in your language. Few things a candidate should keep in mind are not to speak fast and to keep the sentences short and simple. Try to convey your ideas properly without trying to make an impression on them. The more your will sound genuine, the better chance you will stand to get selected.

Keep Yourself Updated – To crack a banking interview your general knowledge plays a very significant role. Read news papers every day to know what is going on in the world. Especially, you should be aware about what is latest in the business and finance sector. The interviewer may ask you any question pertaining to this. Also, read the business magazines on a regular basis to keep you fully updated. An easiest way to read about the business world is by visiting their websites. This way you will get all the updated information.

Practice and plan– A lot of candidates get goosebumps even on the thought of facing the interview. On such scenario what they can do is lot of practice. Standing in front of the mirror and preparing for the interview will help them to overcome the fear of interview. Answer questions to yourself by sitting in front of the mirror and this will give you confidence. Plan out in advance how you will face the interview, what will you wear etc.
